Ephesians 1:15-19 Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe,
according to the working of his mighty power,
DAY 13—We desire to be right in the eyes of our Redeemer.
I t’s not likely we can ever be right in the eyes of everyone. Should we ever even try? For testimony’s sake, we do want to abstain from anything that would cause another person to stumble. But, this thing is certain: we are not ever to take on the role of a hypocrite. That means being an “actor” trying to convince others we’re something we’re not. On the other hand, if we let the words of our mouth and the meditation of our heart be always acceptable in the sight of the Lord, we will stand a much better chance of bearing a good testimony before others, especially non-believers. We want others to know what it means to be redeemed. The best way they can know is by seeing it demonstrated.
Psalms 19:14—Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in Thy sight, O LORD, my Strength, and my REDEEMER.Lord, may the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart be pleasing in your eyes. You are my Rock and my Redeemer.
Titus 2:11-14—For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ; Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a peculiar people (a people for His Own private possession), zealous of good works (with a zeal for doing good). NIrV—God's saving grace has appeared to all people. It teaches us to say no to godless ways and sinful longings. We must control ourselves. We must do what is right. We must lead godly lives in today's world. That's how we should live as we wait for the blessed hope God has given us. We are waiting for Jesus Christ to appear in all his glory. He is our great God and Savior. He gave himself for us. By doing that, he set us free from all evil. He wanted to make us pure. He wanted us to be his very own people. He wanted us to long to do what is good.
Hebrews 13:15—By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His Name. NIrV—So let us never stop offering to God our praise through Jesus. Let us offer it as the fruit of lips that say they believe in him.
O DEAR LORD, I want my life to be the praise of the glory of Your grace by which You redeemed me. Let the testimony of redemption shine through me to these others. l hold them before Your Throne today. While I pray for them, let them see Your love and grace at work in me.
